Pune is our subject.

  • The streets.
  • The people.
  • The monsoon.
  • The markets.
  • The old buildings.
  • The new city.
  • The quiet corners.

We just bring the cameras.

06A photowalk in old Pune

Before the City Wakes

Early light coming through trees over a quiet Pune street, a traffic signal still red and almost nothing moving

There is another Pune before the shops open, before the traffic builds and before the streets fill with noise.

We meet at Kasba at ten to seven. It is still cool. The chai stall is open and almost nothing else is. For about forty minutes the old city belongs to milkmen, sweepers, one cat, and us.

07The city

Pune, through our cameras.

08Who comes

This is a community, not a tour.

Some come with a mirrorless camera.
Some come with a phone.
Some know exactly what they’re doing.
Some are just beginning.

That’s the point. We walk together, we stop often, and nobody is keeping score. You don’t need to be a photographer to come on a photowalk.
